My copywriting career began, of all places, on Craigslist.
I graduated with a degree in English and Public Relations in 2011, and I was excited to start my career. But since the job market was a little tight, I turned to online listings like Craigslist to find work and pay the rent.
There, I found a ton of freelance gigs and wrote everything from blog posts and SEO descriptions to radio spots. These small but interesting projects eventually paved the way for full-time copywriting roles at creative agencies.
As a copywriter, I continued to hone my skills and eventually moved into management positions. This gave me the opportunity to work directly with clients, understand their needs, and develop comprehensive marketing campaigns.
After spending 15 years in the agency world, I realized something important. While I was grateful for the experience, I started to feel a bit boxed in. I missed the variety of those early freelance days and wanted more flexibility and creative freedom in my work. I had a growing desire to partner directly with clients and apply my skills to projects I cared about.
So, I took a deep breath and made the leap from a full-time, stable job to starting my own business.
Today, I have the privilege of working with coaches, consultants, and entrepreneurs who are driven by purpose. They're passionate founders and leaders who want to solve real problems, provide genuine value, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of the people they serve.
It was all going great, until I left my stable, full-time job… Yes, in this economy.
